Subject: [General] Include Model Cars?
Well, I think we should keep the models because they're usually a perfect replication of the real thing, unlike cartoons. But still, I think it'd be a shame if we had deleted all the cartoon cars on the site. Some are quite impressive, like the ones in Riding Bean.
Some of the models shown are better representations of real cars than some of the miniatures used in old movies. Some of the cartoons are quite realistic but many of the ones listed are only approximate at best. If we continue to list them we should probably have some rules. Maybe something like a minimum number of details that should be readily visible.

I think this one is a good example of a model car that "should" be included/kept.

It's been awhile since I've seen "Tommy Boy", so I'm not sure how those models are used. I know when I was doing "Ghost Whisperer" there was a scene where a boy has a bunch of remote control trucks, one he controlled as a ghost...i thought about including, but didn't. so i'm 50/50 on it...but kinda like my thoughts on background cards...if it looks like the car, and can be identified easily, then I say "yes".

I think this is where bias enters into this. I can understand why people are against cartoon cars (because they are just drawings not real vehicles) but I really like cartoon sitcoms like The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Futurama, Beavis and Butthead and Family Guy, as well as Japanese anime films, so I'd like to see them stay on this site. But with model cars, I know a few members collect model cars so they might like to see model cars listed (and admittedly they resemble a real car more accurately than cartoon drawings do). But I think the thing is a car in a cartoon can be driven by cartoon characters and it has more of a role than a model car usually does in a live-action film.
