I have a ew French videos, which are with the PAL system, I want to capture those movies on DVD, But I do not know how I can convert them from PAL into VHS. Does anybody know how to do this? I have only a VHS video which I can use to connect to my pc....

You mean convert SECAM to PAL?
As VHS can be in PAL, SECAM or NTSC.

I have two French video tapes. If I play them on my video player (which has the PAL system), the movie is in black and white. If I would have played them on a French video player, (which I think uses the SECAM system) It would have been in colour.

What I want is to convert this video to dvd, but if possible in colour. Now is there anyway to do that, with a video player that does not have the SECAM system???

1st part: yes, correct
2nd part: It is the same: you need a SECAM-compatible video player, there is no other solution I think
