I've noticed that in the past people have "beaten each other" to finishing certain films, so to prevent this happening I've decided to announce all the films I will be adding or contributing to in the near-future. All my images will be taken from DVDs which is superior to pretty much all other sources of film stills; downloads, DIVXs, VHS to computer transfers etc. On this site the best possible images of vehicles should be used, which means, when it becomes available, the full-size DVD still capture replaces the postage stamp sized, pixelly capture from the dodgy download (no disrespect intended!). Below are all the new DVDs that have come into my house over Christmas, so you can take note so you won't end up taking images from some slightly pixelly download of the film and then I turn up with my (usually) crystal clear DVD stills and all your efforts will have gone to waste, because ultimately the best picture stays.

In no particular order these are the films I will most likely be doing soon:

Derailed (2005) (haven't actually watched this yet, and I like to watch a film properly before I cover it on this site)

By the way I don't mean to put down those of you who don't have DVD drives and take pictures from films that *ahem* "may not have been purchased", any picture is better than no picture at all, but when someone has the DVD they tend to get the best images. I know there have been some occaisions where other sources have provided better pictures than the DVD (like on one of the Jeremy Clarkson videos), but most DVDs of Hollywood films have excellent picture quality.

I've set the topic as "announce", so it stays the first of the topic list.

G-MANN >> pictures from "World's fasted indian" on the site are already coming from a DVD I think, they are big & good quality (well, most of them). From what was posted on the forum as contributions, I think that all cars were listed (I haven't watched the movie yet, though).


From my part, I'll rewatch the DVD of the two others Indiana Jones (as I rewatched the first one yesterday).
I plan to update pictures of the following ones from the DVD some day:
- Forrest Gump
- Gone in 60 seconds (2000)
- Speed
- Whole Nine Yards

I have few cheap DVD on my desk at home that I still have to see, I'll make the list.

I plan to complete Cry-Baby from divx (so not DVD-quality, but probably good anyway)

About series, I will continue to do:
- Quantum Leap until the last episode (good quality, and as it is 4:3 pictures would have to be resized anyway)
- Alias seasons 3 & 4 (DVD)
- Stargate SG-1 (complete what is missing , especially after 7th season, but those will not be from DVD I think)
- Threshold (divx)
- Eureka (divx)

I may try to complete the series "24" as season 3 is missing. But I doubt that I will have time to do that after this long list

With The World's Fastest Indian, I noticed a few of the pictures of minor vehicles aren't as good as the others, so maybe I'll replace them.

The Batman pictures definetely need replacing, but the thing is the film is so dark it's sometimes hard to see some of the vehicles.

If someone really wants to do a film on my list more than I do and has the DVD, then they can do it instead.

The size of the actual vehicle in some of these images is literally about the size of a stamp!

These come from VideoCD I think. I had that problem with Dobermann for which I increased picture size to 150%, as they were really too small.

You can modify brightness & contrast, like what I did for the pictures sent by Carfan (but maybe a little too much), cf comment on that page

I also own the DVD of Withnail and I, but I've lent it to a friend who is in Fiji at moment so it may be a little while before I get it back, but it's a film I'd very much like to do myself and it's not even on the site yet.

If it is I was going to start capturing images from a poor quality DVD burn I have but won't worry if antp has better quality Divx copy.

Yes it is the series from Scifi channel.
My version is not a very high quality, but it is somewhat good.
I only uploaded pictures of first 5 episodes of Eureka, but I should be able to continue that within the next weeks.

My copy is pretty low grade so I will leave it to you
