So most of the time the Expedition stays in the garage or the driveway.

So actually with your SUV you pollute quite less than many people having a small car and who use it everyday

It depends on where you live I guess. Some drive more than others (that figure was the supposed average taken) though, if I thought I was burning more time and gas getting to work than the pay compensated for, then (if possible) I would start looking for work closer to home (but that’s just me)

45 seems like a lot. Even my dad doesn't drive that much. His commute to work is about 5 miles both ways, and he usually doesn't go out anywhere else, and if he does, only about 10 or 20 miles at the most. How could someone possibly drive that much? Though, I guess I can beleive it, since my dad says some of his coworkers live over 60 miles from the office! To me that is simply wasteful, driving 120 miles every day, and more if they want to go anywhere else. Just stupid...

About that "how much a person drives a day" – I remember reading that figure somewhere, I can’t remember the source so I can’t verify it (You might want to take that statement with a grain of salt)
Neptune
For some (that does seem logical) I knew one person who actually did just that.

I may not have answered your question. Were you were wondering why I don’t have a smaller car?

Unlike some, I don’t have a set driving pattern. One week I may not drive hardly at all. I think the average American drives something like 45 miles per day. I may only do 20 miles a day, if that. It depends. I work from home (that’s why I’m able to pop in to IMCDb at all hours during the day ... ) so I don’t have to "commute" every morning like some. So most of the time the Expedition stays in the garage or the driveway.

Ok, sorry to start up the SUV thing again but I just have to get this out...
What I don't underastand is why people who have an SUV (such as you Neptune) don't own another regular car for doing things from day to day (commute to work, grocery shopping, etc...) and just drive the SUV when they go on trips, go off-roading or need to carry more than 6 people? I suppose, in a way my family does this already. We have our Toyota Van, which is not exactly an SUV (though it does have 4WD!) but gets about the same gas mileage as an SUV (17/city 20/highway) and has about the same height and ground clearance as one (which are my main problems with such a vehicle), and we only drive that car when we go on trips. For around-the-town stuff and short trips we almost always use our regualar cars which get good mileage (20-25/city 25-30/highway)

Seems like a simple enough (and very economical) solution don't you think?

Anyway,

Last month , I saw a new redesigned 2009 Ford F-150 (I knew the ’09 model are here, but I didn’t think Ford has released the F-150 just yet) So I thought it strange to see it.

I wanted to add this back when I saw it, but kept forgetting.

As for towing things, there are heavy duty pickup trucks that can do that the best AND they have back seats (for Neptune's family) AND can carry gigantic things like furniture easily. If someone really wanted a SUV for off-roading they would buy one with high ground clearance which is something the Expediton doesn't have. It's a suburban family vehicle plain and simple.

This is "your" opinion about the vehicle (which is fine) But don’t try to pass your opinions off as real facts. Do some research. The Expedition can tow more than some pickup trucks (including the 2007-2008 Dodge Ram 1500) And saying the Expy is no good off road is a slap in the face to the Ford F-150, which is no slouch off road (they share the same underpinnings. For a seating example: The Expedition seats 8 to 9 people – the F-150 seats only 5, maybe 6 if the SuperCrew can be optioned with a front bench seat.

Hmmm...G-Mann doesn't want to get into another debate about SUVs, I find that hard to believe.

Yes, believe it, its true. The SUV debate is old and tiresome. It’s endless and goes no where.

I had to say these few things, I won't continue with this any further.

The Honda FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel cell car …

I haven’t heard anything about it, so I was shocked to see that it can already be leased (only by southern Californians) but still – I think its neat *for a lack of better words*
